Consolidated Support For The Social Integration Of The Foreigners Granted Asylum

The target group of the project
It was foreseen, that 140 representatives of the target group would participate in the project. Even 172 representatives of the target group participated in the project.

The target group of the project consists of:
1. The citizens of any third state or without citizenship, having the status, granted according to the Geneva Convention of July 28, 1951 ?Relating To The Status Of Refugee? and its protocol of 1967, which allows the refugees to live in the Republic of Lithuania. It was foreseen that 5 people would participate, actually 14 people participated.
2. The citizens of any third state or without citizenship, having the other form of the international protection in the Republic of Lithuania according to the national legislation. It was foreseen that 135 people would participate, 158 people participated.

The not direct target group of the project ??the councilors of the social integration program of the foreigners granted asylum and the employees of the Refugees Reception Center, dealing directly with the foreigners granted asylum.
It was foreseen that 20-30 people would participate. 35 people participated. Among them:

  • Employees of the social establishments ? 32 people
  • Students taught by the Vilnius University Legal Clinic ? 3 people

The results achieved during the project:

  • There were rented the premises for the activities in the Refugees Daily Center in Kaunas (295 m?);
  • 141 foreigners granted asylum visited the Refugees Daily Center in Kaunas;
  • The organizational and domestic equipment was bought for the Refugees Daily Center in Kaunas;
  • There were organized 2 seminars ?Psychological, Social And Legal Aspects Working With The Refugees? for the social workers, implementing the social integration program of the foreigners granted asylum (32 employees participated);
  • There were selected and taught 3 students of the Vilnius University Legal Clinic for the work with the refugees;
  • There was created a methodology for the students working in the field of the refugee law;
  • There were organized the meetings ?Only For Women? (12 meetings, 21 women participated);
  • There were organized 6 seminars for the women-refugees (13 women participated);
  • There was subscribed the publication of Lithuania and the foreign countries for the members of the target group;
  • There was ensured the possibility to use the internet in the Refugees Daily Center in Kaunas;
  • There were organized the computer skills courses, the courses of the Lithuanian, Chechen language;
  • There were organized the courses (duration ? 2 weeks) regarding the human rights for the leaders of the refugees? community (10 foreigners granted asylum participated);
  • There was provided the juridical guidance in Rukla and Kaunas (34 consultations, 15 foreigners got consultations);
  • There were organized 6 seminars relating the juridical questions of the social integration (37 foreigners granted asylum participated);
  • There was provided the social assistance for the foreigners granted asylum individually or in groups;
  • There were provided 21 psychological consultations for the foreigners granted asylum in the municipalities;
  • There were organized 7 sessions of the psychotherapy in the municipalities with the foreigners granted asylum;
  • There were prepared the guidelines for the social workers, implementing the social integration program of the foreigners granted asylum;
  • The articles were published in the newspapers of Jonava and Kaunas;
  • 1000 leaflets and 1000 posters about the project were published and distributed in the towns of Lithuania.
